'Following in Franz Liszt's footsteps'

A unique album release at Casa Radio

After the success recorded on the national tour covering 12 Romanian cities, the 'Travelling Piano' project has found a well deserved crowning of its success through the release, at Casa Radio Publishing House, of a CD entitled 'Following in Franz Liszt's footsteps', which will be launched Tuesday, September 13th 2011, at 19:15, at the Radio Romania Cultural stand in the square of the George Enescu festival.

At 200 years from his death, Franz Liszt offers himself, an indirect gift to the Romanian music lovers. It is not a methaphor: who knows when or on which other occasion would this refurbished piano have arrived at Mediaș? The well-known Franz Liszt compositions were heard last night, the 7th of April, in the Rotary Hall of the Art Highschool of Baia Mare. A piano will travel, almost the whole month of April, through 12 cities in Romania, to reach at the end - on the21st of April - in Mediaș where it will remain. April 4th 2011 - 'The Travelling Piano' - debut with ripples of applause


The 'Travelling Piano'tour has begun. The first two recitals, which took place Friday, April 1st, in Sibiu, and Sunday, April 3rd, in Brasov, were very much appreciated by the audience and rewarded with several minutes of applauses. The spectators, some of which had travelled especially from other cities to listen to the concert, could enjoy a program consisting wholly of Liszt, held by the pianist Horia Mihail.

Horia Mihail performed last night, at Thalia Hall in Sibiu, the first recital of the tour 'The Traveling Piano  - On Franz Liszt's footsteps'. The audience, of which some of them came especially from other towns to listen to him, applauded, cheered, and the pianist felt like a megastar:

Between 1846 - 1847, Franz Liszt went on a tour in the Romanian Countrie. Nobody saw a piano in that area, so he carried his own piano in the cities he visited.The pianistul Horia Mihail follows on Liszt's footsteps alongside his travelling piano. Starting on the 1st of April, he will be touring in 12 cities of the country , Bucharest (on the 15th of April) being one of them, the last cities do not, at the moment, have such a concert instruments. At the end of the tour, on April 21st, the concert piano, the The Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company will put into service of the city of Mediaș a concert piano.

The pianist Horia Mihail will organise a tour in 12 Romanian cities, between the 1st and 21st of April, consisting wholly of Hungarian composer Franz Liszt's music (1811-1866). The pianist Horia Mihail, solo concertist of the Radio Choirs and Orchestras, will be in a recital tour in 12 Romanian cities, to mark 200 years from the birth of Franz Liszt.
